Kriti Sanon says choreographer shouted at her in front of 50 people: ‘I started crying, never worked with her again’
Kriti Sanon speaks about being scolded in front of 50 models after she messed up choreography and how she convinced her middle-class parents about joining films.

Actor Kriti Sanon, who was recently honoured with the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Mimi (2021), had to enter the film industry with a backup plan to make her parents feel secure about her future. She took the GMAT exam to ensure that if her film career failed, she would end up at a good business school.
Recently, Kriti shared that despite coming from a middle-class family, with a CA father and a professor mother, she didn’t have to put in a lot of effort to convince them to join the Indian film industry. The only condition she had to fulfil was to have a Plan B. During an interview with Curly Tales, Kriti said, “It didn’t require a lot of convincing but I had to give them a backup plan. I had to take the GMAT exam and get a good score.”
Kriti moved to Mumbai and while she was juggling to get a role in a film, she was also attending coaching classes to prepare for her GMAT exam. “I just moved to Mumbai and I was going for these GMAT preparation classes while I was trying for movies and doing modelling. I got my first Telugu film (Mahesh Babu’s 1: Nenokkadine) and I also got Heropanti. Heropanti was supposed to start a little later and my second schedule of the Telugu was supposed to start after two months. So, I had two months in the middle and I took the GMAT exam then,” narrated Kriti.
The Bareilly Ki Barfi actor believes a backup plan saved her from being ‘desperate’ for work. She shared, “I understand the concerns of my parents coming from a middle-class, non-film family. What happens when you have a plan B is that you are not desperate anymore. You are passionate but you are not desperate. It’s a very thin line.”
However, Kriti never had to use Plan B as her acting career flourished. Now, her GMAT score, which is valid for five years, has expired.
Kriti Sanon was scolded in front of 50 models at her first ramp show
Before facing the camera, Kriti Sanon began her journey in the showbiz with modelling. But, she had an unpleasant experience at her first fashion show. She was scolded by her choreographer in front of 50 other models
The actor shared, “My first ramp show, the choreographer, I have never worked with her again, she was very rude to me because I messed up the choreography. It was at some farmhouse and heels were getting stuck into the grass and it was my first time. Terrible. I started crying because she was scolding me in front of 50 models and very rudely. I was holding it for long but I cry the moment someone shouts at me.”
But Kriti chose not to give up. She described herself as “very competitive and ambitious.” Going ahead, Kriti is awaiting the release of her next film, Ganpath, co-starring Tiger Shroff. She will also be seen in a ‘quirky romantic drama’ with Shahid Kapoor. She has recently started shooting for her maiden production venture, Do Patti.
