Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush hit screens last Friday. Despite the negative reception for the Om Raut directorial, Kriti has decided to concentrate on the ‘cheers and claps’. She shared videos on Instagram of the audience cheering for the Prabhas-starrer, and in one video, they were heard singing the song “Ram Siya Ram”.

Sharing the videos, Kriti wrote in the caption, “Focusing on the cheers and claps! Jai Siya Ram.” Fans on the internet hailed Kriti and appreciated the film. One of the fans wrote, “Don’t believe anyone’s words, once go to the theater and see it, then you will feel that such a movie has not been made till date.” Another commented, “Best movie Jai Shri Ram.”

Kriti’s sister Nupur Sanon and designer Manish Malhotra dropped heart emoticons in the comments section of the post.

Adipurush is currently facing criticism for its subpar visual effects, cringe-worthy dialogue and poor characterisation. The dialogues have stirred up tension, resulting in protests in various parts of the country. However, despite the negative reviews, the film has been a commercial success, grossing Rs 340 crore in just three days, making it a box office hit.

Indianexpress.com film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film 1.5 stars. A part of the review read, “This version of the Ramayan is not interested in connecting with the feeling of genuine religiosity that any reading of the ‘granth’ arouses, whether it is the most popular Tulsidas version or the Valmiki version.”
