Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is not having a dream run at the box office. On its eighth day, the film’s collections did not increase much as it managed to mint only Rs 1.93 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the total nett collection of the family entertainer in India to around Rs 92.08 crore, which is a dismal number for a Salman Khan film. The gross collection, however, currently stands at Rs 106.5 crore.

Sacnilk reported that the film saw an occupancy of 9.64% in the Hindi market on Friday which led to its net collection being as low as less than Rs 2 crore.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan started losing momentum at the box office on its fifth day (Tuesday). After a solid weekend of Rs 68.17 crore and a double-digit collection on its first Monday (Rs 10.17 crore), on Tuesday it could earn only Rs 6.12 crore. This number fell further on Wednesday (Rs 4.25 crore) and on Thursday (Rs 3.50 crore).

The Farhad Samjhi directorial still has another week to recover as there is no big Hindi release in the pipeline. Even Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2, which hit the theaters on Friday, won’t affect its market. If it gains momentum over the weekend, just like it did during its opening weekend, it might end up with a respectable total.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is the fifth consecutive film of Salman where his charm has not translated into big box office numbers. The last time he managed to deliver a blockbuster was in 2017 with Tiger Zinda Hai. It earned Rs 339.16 cr during its run in the cinema halls.

Now, the trade pundits are hopeful that the third film in the Tiger franchise will only resurrect Salman’s career. Tiger 3 is expected to hit the theaters later this year. Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the action-thriller stars Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist and Katrina Kaif will play the female lead in the film. The film will also see a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
