Kiara Advani says husband Sidharth Malhotra helped her handle trolling over Satyaprem Ki Katha: ‘She’s married, why is she doing such scenes?’

Knowing that people are trolling her for being ‘a married actor’, Kiara got affected. “There was a bit of negativity that really got to me,” said Kiara, adding that still she chose not to discuss how she was feeling with Sidharth. “I knew the more I will talk about it, the deeper I will go into it.”

But Sidharth took notice of all the negativity that was spreading on social media about his wife. But he didn’t “make a big deal out of it.” Instead, he tried to put some positive thoughts in Kiara’s head. “He was the one who explained it to me, ‘Look, there will always be these negative trolls, but if you’re going to give so much importance to this and be sitting at home and crying and behaving like s*** has hit the roof, what’s wrong with you?'” Kiara shared.

Sidharth explained to Kiara that there might be certain fans who are “not happy” about their marriage but she need not be bothered about them since neither does she know them nor do they.

Kiara revealed that Sidharth’s support made her realise, “If he is so mature about it, why am I sitting and feeling all of these things? That time I was like, ‘thank god, I have somebody who has got so much wisdom and maturity and experience in this matter’.”

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra tied the knot this year on February 7. The couple had an intimate wedding at Jaisalmer’s grand Suryagarh Palace. They fell in love on the set of their film, Shershaah, which came out on Amazon Prime Video.

Satyaprem Ki Katha, a romantic drama which focuses on the issue of consent, has done well at the box office. It has earned Rs 72.50 cr within two weeks of its release.
