Kartik Aaryan’s personal and professional life, particularly his romantic relationships, have always attracted attention. Although the actor has mostly remained tight-lipped about his dating life, rumours have always been rife, with the actor being linked to several of his contemporaries, including Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday, at different points in time. However, none of them have ever outrightly confirmed dating the Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor.
Recently, a new speculation began swirling that Kartik is currently dating his Aashiqui 3 co-star Sreeleela, who is 11 years younger than him. Now, the actor has finally revealed his relationship status, dispelling all the gossip that has been circulating. Maintaining that he’s currently single, Kartik, however, admitted that some of the past rumours about his relationships were indeed true. “I’m currently single and not dating. In the past, there was a lot of speculation about my dating life, some true, some not,” he said during a chat with Filmfare.
“At the time, I was new to the idea of people linking me romantically with others and didn’t pay much attention to it. The media would often spin stories from a single photo, even if I’d just met someone. It felt surreal and I’d even get updates about my own dating life. Over time, I realised I needed to be more careful in how I handled such situations,” he added.
When asked if he was open to the idea of dating an actor, Kartik stated that he had no issues with that, as they would understand the profession better than anyone else. He, however, mentioned that both people would have to put in extra effort in such a scenario, as spending time together won’t happen easily. “It’s crucial to prioritise time for each other despite busy schedules,” he shared.
Following the blockbuster success of director Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, in which he shared the screen with Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, Kartik Aaryan is currently working on Anurag Basu’s upcoming film, which serves as the third instalment in the Aashiqui franchise. Both Kartik and Sreeleela were recently spotted shooting for the film in Gangtok, Sikkim.
The actor also addressed the speculation that he is charging Rs 50 crores for a film. Replying to the question, Kartik asked, “Am I the only actor who has received such a price? Nobody writes about others but everyone writes about me.” He said that’s because he doesn’t have a “spokesperson or family” in the industry. “I don’t have my uncle, or my dad or my sister or my girlfriend spreading positivity about me in the articles or in the industry. This news is coming from somewhere else. I don’t need this to prove anything. There are some who get irked by the fact that people make it on their own. And they try to make stories about that person a lot more.”
