Karan Johar shares cyptic post after Adar Poonawalla acquires 50 per cent stake in Dharma: ‘People at the top…’
Filmmaker Karan Johar shared a cryptic post on his Instagram Story, after Adar Poonawalla acquired 50 per cent stake in his legacy brand, Dharma Productions.

Karan Johar was in the news recently as he sold half of Dharma – comprising Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment – to Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Productions for Rs 1,000 crore. The acquisition was announced on October 21.
While the Hindi film industry is yet to comment on the deal, actor-comedian Jaaved Jaaferi jokingly twisted the name of Johar’s film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and wrote, “Next film: Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Serum”. The announcement also led to a backlash from a section of the internet amid speculation that Johar’s home banner is going through a financial crisis.
While the filmmaker didn’t directly comment on the reactions, he shared a cryptic post on his Instagram Stories, where he talked about competition. The quote read, “Competition happens at the bottom. The people at the top are collaborating.”
Take a look at the Story here:

Dharma-Adar Poonawalla deal
Poonawalla acquired 50 percent of Dharma Productions earlier this week. With an official statement announcing the partnership, he said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to partner with one of the most iconic production houses in our nation, along with my friend Karan Johar. We hope to build and grow Dharma and scale even greater heights in the years to come.”
Johar will look after the creative aspects of the production house and also retain his role of Executive Chairman. “Today, as we join forces with Adar, a close friend and an exceptional visionary and innovator, we’re poised to elevate Dharma’s legacy to new heights. This partnership represents a perfect blend of our emotional storytelling prowess and forward-thinking business strategies. It’s about honoring our roots while embracing the future of global entertainment. Dharma’s journey has been remarkable, and this collaboration opens up a world of possibilities for creating content that will resonate across borders and generations,” the filmmaker added.
