Actor Kangana Ranaut recently shared that she feels ‘anxious’ around the release of her films, not because she is unsure about the film but because of the ‘negative PR’ that happens around her film’s release date. The actor is currently awaiting the release of Tejas, where she essays the role of an Air Force Pilot.

Recently, while interacting with Times Now Navbharat, Kangana said she is not ‘scared’ when her film’s release is around the corner, but she definitely undergoes a “sense of anxiety”. She said, “I feel anxious on a Thursday or Friday.”

As per Kangana, the reason behind her anxiety is all the negative PR and the unpleasant things that are written and said about her. She believes that people are not as critical of other films as they are of her films.

Citing the example of recent box office duds, Ganapath and Yaariyan 2, Kangana said, “The films that came last week, unfortunately, they couldn’t work. But nobody made fun of anyone or bad-mouthed anyone. Nobody dissected those films. But when it comes to me or my films, such bad things, such unpleasant words are said, that maybe your ears will start bleeding. Itni gandi gandi news aati hai (such bad news surfaces) that I naturally worry about these things. PR mafia is my enemy and I don’t have any PR either.”

Kangana also feels that even if her film will do a business of Rs 100 crore, it still won’t get the ‘hit’ tag. She shared, “When my films do a business of Rs 100 crore, they say the film’s budget was high, so this can’t be counted as a hit. And, if it doesn’t do a business of Rs 100 crore, then they spread fake news about it.”

The actor shared that her upcoming film Tejas “has already been sold”, but there will be ‘fake news’ about its success. “They will spread fake news, twist the numbers and fool common people as they don’t understand these things,” said Kangana.

The Tanu Weds Manu fame said she often gets calls from well-wishers and when they ask her about what is happening, she worries how their perception is clouded by the fake news. “I get calls from well-wishers that so and so has happened and I wonder what kind of things are being fed to them. What kind of perception is being created? Such things demotivate me. I am an artist, I will definitely keep getting work. But when it comes to your image, it affects you,” Kangana shared.

Tejas will hit the screen on October 27.
