Kajol, who will soon be seen in Lust Stories 2 with Kumud Mishra in director Amit R Sharma’s segment, recently asked the director of her short if she was a better actor than her husband Ajay Devgn. Amit has directed Ajay in their upcoming film Maidaan. During an interview with The Quint, when Amit was asked about the similarities and differences between Ajay and Kajol as actors, the actor quickly jumped in with her own question.
“Ask him who is the better actor,” she questioned. To this, Amit started laughing and pointed at Kajol. When asked again, Amit laughed and said, “I have answered.” Speaking about the differences between the two, Kajol again jumped in and said, “I talk a lot more” in comparison to Ajay.
Amit then elaborated on the similarities between the two and said, “Both are punctual, on time, like dot on time. Both have no tantrums and both are amazing actors.” Kajol again interrupted and said “Only one of them certain phobias, the other one does not have those phobias. I have those phobias which he tapped in to and which he made full use of for the film.” Although, she said that she is “not at liberty” to discuss the phobia.
Ajay’s Maidaan has been delayed several times. Although the film’s teaser, launched in March, announced the release date as June 23, the film was postponed yet again. A new release date is yet to be announced. The official synopsis describes Maidaan as “the true story of an unknown hero who created history and records for India such that even 60 years later, we are not able to match up to those accomplishments in the most played sport in the world, football.”
In the film, Ajay plays coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is known as the architect of modern Indian football.
