Kaanchi to feature song against corruption: Subhash Ghai

Subhash Ghai said a new song in his forthcoming film Kaanchi will inspire millions of young Indians.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai said a new song in his forthcoming film Kaanchi will inspire millions of young Indians.

The song which goes Itna bada Jahan hai,Chalo doondh

laye usko,Sare Jahan se Accha woh Hindustan Kahan hai,is politically-tuned against corruption in India and a derivation of the patriotic song Sare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara.

Ghai said the film carries a message for the masses through the story of a young girl, who comes to the city and faces corrupt power.

“The girl gets the impression that the poor people must not speak. We are the government; we know how to deal with it.

You are nobody… But she tells them that I am somebody,” said Ghai, who is in Singapore for the second Bengali International Film Festival being held September 5-8.

The 20-year-old girl will go on to inspire the millions of youths of India, said Ghai, who read out the first lines of the song in poetic tone.
