Actor Jackie Shroff said that he once hit Anil Kapoor for real while shooting a fight sequence for a film. He did this because he had heard from actor Gulshan Grover that Kapoor was known to actually hit his co-stars during fight scenes, because he got so invested in the process. In a recent interview with actor Mukesh Khanna, Shroff said that some actors had told him that Anil Kapoor is so committed during shoots that he makes contact with co-stars, but also apologises immediately. Shroff remembered punching Kapoor on his jaw during the shoot of their 1985 film Yudh. He narrated, "I had heard about this. Gulshan (Grover) ro raha tha, ki arre yaar bohot maara (Gulshan complained that Anil had hit him). So, I punched him for real during the shoot of Yudh. And, immediately, I told him, 'Kya lag rahe ho sir, ekdum strong lag rahe ho, ekdum handsome (You look so good sir, so strong, so handsome).'" Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor have a great on-screen chemistry, as could be seen in their film Ram Lakhan, in which they played brothers. Shroff confessed that he considers Kapoor to be a more skilled actor than himself, and that he doesn't mind if Kapoor has more screen time than him. He said, "I am very flexible. If someone has more screen time than me, I am fine with it. With Anil, I get to learn a lot since he is a great actor and my senior. He doesn't look like one, but he is. He still looks like my Lakhan. These are the people I have learnt a lot from, Anil is a film boy. He is so serious with his work that I automatically look serious in front of him." Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor have also starred together in films such as Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Karma, Lajja, and Kala Bazaar, among others. Recently, Kapoor was seen in the Disney+Hotstar show The Night Manager, along with Sobhita Dhulipala and Aditya Roy Kapur. Shroff was last seen in the comedy drama Phone Bhoot.
