Ajay Devgn says Jaaved Jaaferi was ‘stressed’ about being upstaged by son Meezaan Jafri in De De Pyaar De 2 song: ‘Is he doing better than me?’

Ajay Devgn, who plays the lead role in De De Pyaar De 2, revealed how Jaaved Jaaferi was nervous about dancing with his son Meezaan Jafri in the film's song.

Jaaved Jaaferi’s son and actor Meezaan Jafri got a chance to shake a leg with his father, who was one of the most popular dancers of his time, in his upcoming film De De Pyaar De 2. In a recent interaction, Meezaan recalled the experience of shooting with his father for the De De Pyaar De 2 song “3 Shaukk”. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn, who plays the lead role in the movie, revealed how Jaaved was nervous about dancing with his son and even feared being overshadowed by him.

Speaking on BookMyShow’s YouTube channel, Meezaan said, “I was really happy with the opportunity given that I was able to share screen space with my dad and not just that, but also dance with him. That’s what he has been known for.”

Recalling how Jaaved was conscious of getting upstaged by his son, Ajay shared, “His father was more conscious. He kept asking if Meezaan is doing better than him, and when we said ‘yes’, then he was happy also, but he was also getting stressed. He kept saying ‘this is not my style of dancing.'” Rakul also recalled how conscious Jaaved was, saying, “I’m not into practice, I don’t dance that often.”

Earlier, a behind-the-scenes video of Jaaved and Meezaan practicing together during the shoot of the song went viral. It shows the crowd cheering for the father-son duo. While Meezaan looks energetic in the film, Jaaved appears visibly tired but still manages to nail every dance step with finesse.

Jaaved Jaaferi has always been known for his exceptional dancing skills. He was the host and judge of India’s oldest dance reality show Boogie Woogie. Recently, another video of Jaaved dancing on Realme Hip Hop India Season 2, where he performed against Remo D’Souza, gained huge applause from fans for showcasing his breakdancing skills even at the age of 61.

De De Pyaar De 2 will release on November 14. The movie continues from the first film, starring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. It also features R. Madhavan, Meezaan Jafri, and Jaaved Jaaferi in pivotal roles.
