Even on paper, the coming together of superstar Aamir Khan and national award winning director Avinash Arun sounds like a treat for cinephiles. And if the stars align, the two might possibly collaborate for the much speculated biopic of special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. There were reports that Aamir will be co-producing the biopic with Dinesh Vijan and might possibly also play the lead role. Avinash Arun, known for Paatal Lok, School of Lies and Killa, was rumoured to direct the biopic. On the sidelines of The Himalayan Film Festival, Avinash spoke to Indianexpress.com and said the film is at a "very, very initial stage" with nothing concrete in place so far. "I don't know how that new came out because it truly is at a very initial discussion phase. It's too soon to talk about it. I have a few thoughts, but nothing is concrete, nothing has materialised yet. Things are in the air right now," he said. Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chadha in 2022 and is said to be considering multiple projects to pick his next acting venture. When asked specifically if Aamir is doing the film, Avinash said, "That's what I am saying, it's all in the clouds for now. There are interest of people, even I am interested in a lot of things. But it's in the air. I'll be very happy if it gets made because it is an interesting subject. I'm just doing my work for now." At the second edition of The Himalayan Film Festival, Avinash's feature Three of Us will be the closing film. The drama stars Shefali Shah, Jaideep Ahlawat and Swanand Kirkire. Avinash is also attached with season two of Paatal Lok. The Himalayan Film Festival is organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) of the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh, in collaboration with Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh. The festival will conclude on October 3.
