Kriti Sanon is one of the most recognised faces in the Hindi film industry. Coming from an engineering background and being a complete outsider, the actor’s journey in films wasn’t easy. She started her career in modelling before transitioning to cinema and made her acting debut opposite Tiger Shroff (son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff) in Heropanti (2014). Kriti quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after female stars in Bollywood and went on to share screen space with legends like Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Dilwale (2015). She later delivered several hits including Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi, Housefull 4, and won the National Film Award for her performance in Mimi (2021).

But beyond being a talented actor, Kriti is also a smart investor and businesswoman. Over the years, she has showcased her expertise beyond acting by launching her own beauty and fitness brands. On her birthday, let’s take a look at Kriti’s successful business ventures and the influence she wields beyond the world of cinema.

Kriti Sanon’s Rs 100 crore skincare brand

Being an actor, Kriti Sanon has always been surrounded by makeup and glam, and she took the learnings from her profession and channelled them into launching her skincare brand — Hyphen — in 2023. “I am a skin nerd; I got into understanding skincare during Covid,” she said in an interaction with NDTV.

She co-founded the brand with PEP Technologies — the parent company of another well-known personal care brand, mCaffeine. According to Forbes, the brand minted Rs 100 crore within its first year of launch. Hyphen now competes with other celebrity beauty brands like Katrina Kaif’s Kay Beauty, Mira Rajput’s Akind, and Aashka Goradia’s Renee Cosmetics.

Kriti Sanon’s fitness venture

Before the much-talked-about launch of Hyphen in 2023, Kriti Sanon had co-founded her fitness brand, The Tribe, in 2022. Like her beauty brand, The Tribe was also inspired by her journey in films. She shared in an interaction with Raj Shamani that after filming Mimi before the Covid-19 pandemic — in which she plays the role of a pregnant girl — she had gained a lot of weight, and since gyms were closed during the pandemic, she found it hard to shed the extra kilos. “I gained 15 kgs and I didn’t know what to do,” she said. The actor shared that she met four trainers and she “lost all the weight while working out in her room” through virtual sessions — and that’s how the idea to launch her own fitness brand with her trainers came to her.

She opened the first fitness studio in 2022 in Mumbai’s upscale locality of Juhu. In 2024, she launched the second studio in another posh Mumbai neighbourhood — Bandra.

Kriti Sanon’s production house

After gaining success in films, Kriti Saon was quick to launch her own production house — Blue Butterfly Films — to tell the stories she wanted to tell. She launched her production house the same year she launched her skincare brand — 2023. She bankrolled her critically acclaimed Netflix film Do Patti (2024) under the banner. The film saw her playing a double role and featured Kajol portraying the role of a cop for the first time.

Kriti Sanon’s property portfolio

According to a report in Moneycontrol, Kriti Saon recently shifted to a luxurious apartment, Sandhu Palace, in Mumbai’s upscale locality of Bandra. The actor is reportedly paying a rent of Rs 17 lakh for the accommodation. This amounts to around Rs 2 crore in rent per year. Other celebrities like KL Rahul and actor Jaaved Jaaferi also reside in the same building.

According to GQ, Kriti also bought a 2,000 sq. ft. plot of land in Alibaug in 2024. The estimated cost of the land is more than Rs 2 crore. Amitabh Bachchan had also bought a 10,000 sq. ft. plot in the same luxury project.
