When Hema Malini said Sunny Deol has a ‘clear heart just like Dharamendra ji’; Esha Deol looks up to Sunny like a ‘father’

“Everyone wonders what kind of a relationship we (Sunny and I) share. It is very beautiful and cordial. Whenever it is necessary he (Sunny) is always there, along with Dharamji, especially when this accident happened,” she shared. Hema was speaking about the time when she met with a car accident on her way to Jaipur from Agra in 2015. “Sunny was the first person to come and see me at home. He saw that the right doctor is there for the stitches that were done on my face. I was really taken aback to see him showing so much interest. That shows what kind of a relationship we are having,” she shared.

In 2016, when Sunny was directing Ghayal Once Again, Hema was asked about her reaction to the film. As per IANS, she called him a “very nice human being” and said, “I have seen the film. It’s a very good film, a wonderful film. Sunny is a beautiful director. He is very nice human being with a clear heart just like Dharam ji. He has made a very nice film. I want people to watch the film and I wish and pray the film works at the box office.”

In her biography, Hema Malini: Beyond the Dream Girl, the actor said that she never met Dharmendra’s first wife Prakash, but she respects her. “Though I have never spoken about Prakash, I respect her a lot. Even my daughters respect Dharamji’s family. The world wants to know about my life in detail, but that is not for others to know. It’s no one’s business,” she wrote.

Esha Deol, in the biography, shared that she ties rakhi to Sunny and Bobby, as reported by Jansatta, and also said that she looks up to Sunny as a “father figure.” She was quoted by the publication as saying, “I don’t need to tell the world about the relationship between myself and my half-brothers. I know the world talks about our relationships in different ways. But the Deol family members do not want to show off their relationships.” She added, “Sunny Bhaiya is very innovative and a very good person at heart too. I treat him like a father. Bobby bhaiyya’s behavior is also very good, but he is a bit reserved.” When Esha got married in 2012, Sunny and Bobby did not attend.

Esha has never been photographed with her half brothers in public, but they often leave comments on each other’s Instagram posts.

In the biography, Esha also recalled an incident where Sunny helped her in meeting their uncle, Dharmendra’s younger brother Ajit Singh Deol at their father’s house. He was unwell and bedridden and Esha wanted to pay her respects and it was Sunny who made it possible. “There was no option of him visiting us, because he was bedridden, and neither was he in a hospital where we could visit him. So, I called Sunny bhaiya and he organised everything,” she was quoted in the book.
