Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar says Krushna Abhishek’s mother raised them, opens up about tension between two families: ‘If someone is upset..’
Govinda's brother Kirti Kumar said that he is proud of the actor and also discussed the importance of family.

On Thursday evening, Govinda surprised everyone by gracing niece Arti Singh’s wedding in Mumbai. Given his absence from her pre-wedding ceremonies and his strained relationship with his nephew Krushna Abhishek, fans were unsure if Govinda would attend. Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar also attended the wedding and opened up about the rift between two families.
In an interview with Telly Masala, Kumar said, “She (Arti) is my favourite sister’s daughter. In a way Krushna and Arti’s mother, who is our sister, raised me and Govinda. Govinda is much younger than me, but she has only raised him.”
When asked about the fallout between Krushna and Govinda, the actor said, “In which family there are no fights or quarrels? And if someone is upset, it doesn’t mean I would not be happy for them. Such a thing as a perfect relationship doesn’t exist. If someone has some tension with someone, it doesn’t mean that they are not family anymore. Family is a great gift from God.”

He added, “Everybody was very happy at the wedding. I am very proud that people love my brother. Even though he has not done films for the past many years, he still receives a lot of love.”
For the unversed, Govinda was upset with Krushna’s statement ‘Maine Govinda ko apna mama rakha hai’ on a comedy show. While Krushna defended and said that it wasn’t in a ‘bad taste,’ the argument continued and several other issues between Govinda’s wife Sunita and Krushna’s wife Kashmeera also came to light.
In 2016, Govinda appeared on Sony’s The Kapil Sharma Show alongside his wife Sunita and daughter Tina to promote his comeback film Jagga Jasoos. This appearance appeared to disappoint Krushna Abhishek, who was hosting Comedy Night Love, a competing show on Colors at the time.
