‘Govinda is not violent, where is the question of being cruel,’ questions actor’s manager as he responds to divorce rumours; lawyer says ‘there’s no case’

After the report of their divorce surfaced online, Govinda was spotted at the Mumbai airport. However, the actor looked unfazed from all the rumours around his marriage and blowed a kiss towards the photographers as he posed for pictures.

Similar rumours came up in February as well but at the time, Govinda’s team claimed that Sunita had filed for divorce six months ago but the couple had then reconciled.

Govinda’s manager reacts to the rumours

Govinda’s manager, Shashi, too has reacted to the news. He told HT City, “Every couple sees ups and downs in their relationship. These are all old news that people are resurfacing for their own benefit.” When asked about the divorce, he said, “Govinda can never be violent or misbehave then where is the question of being cruel? I have worked closely with him and he is nothing like it. People are trying to tarnish his image. All this news that has surfaced is old, and both Sunita and Govinda are working on their differences.

He admitted that Govinda didn’t adhere to court summons and said. “I agree that Govinda never went to the court, but neither has Sunita except the one time she went to file the case.”

He added, “Which couple doesn’t have issues between them? Sunita is madly in love with Govinda and they are both together. There is no divorce happening as they are both focusing on their kids’ career-marriages, instead of this negativity.”

He further accused the media of spoiling their relationship. “By adding these serious sections and making a drama out of a small thing, you all are destroying someone’s relationship. You are okay to ruin people’s lives for a couple of views? In so many years of their marriage, have you ever heard Govinda say anything bad about Sunita? He didn’t react even after Sunita went and spoke against the actor in a couple of her interviews. You will see the family together this Ganesh Chaturthi. You can come home and see them.”

What sparked their divorce rumours?

Sunita Ahuja has been promoting her new YouTube channel lately and has been giving many interviews. While she shared in her latest vlog that Govinda and her are strong companions, she has also made statements in the past where in she said that they live separately. She has also implied that he has been unfaithful towards her.

There were reports that a 30-year-old Marathi actress might be the reason behind the couple’s fallout. However, speaking about the same, producer Pahlaj Nihalani told Vickey Lalwani, “Nobody can get between Sunita and Govinda’s eternal love.”

Despite having a fallout with Govinda, Pahlaj said, “Listen, nobody can get in between Sunita and Govinda’s eternal love. Sunita speaks her mind, and Govinda never strays. Their marriage will survive even if he has 10 affairs. Plus, they’ve always lived separately. He always used to have his meetings in the other bungalow, because he sleeps late. She’s always with him otherwise. He doesn’t have a single film right now, but he does shows daily, and she handles his business matters.”

Govinda tied the knot with Sunita in 1987. They have two children: Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Ahuja.
