The Executive Council has granted powers to the department heads to appoint visiting lecturers without seeking approval
MSU Office of Public Relations on Friday said, “MSU Baroda has taken a proactive decision to ensure that there will be no shortage of teachers in the academic year 2025–26 (Express File/Bhupendra Rana) In a first, the Executive Council of Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) Baroda has granted powers to the department heads to appoint visiting lecturers without seeking approval. The decision, according to the authorities, has been taken to ensure that vacant posts of temporary professors, lecturers and teaching assistants do not lead to a shortage of teaching staff in the ongoing academic session.
MSU Office of Public Relations on Friday said, “MSU Baroda has taken a proactive decision to ensure that there will be no shortage of teachers in the academic year 2025–26. Despite the University’s extensive efforts to fill vacant posts of temporary assistant professor, temporary lecturer, and temporary teaching assistant through advertisements in April 2025, the Selection Committee could not recommend suitable candidates for several positions… In view of this and keeping in mind the academic interests of the students, the Executive Council resolved last month to approve the appointment of visiting faculty against such vacancies… A formal approval has been given to ensure immediate implementation.”
