Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who will be next seen in the Bollywood romantic drama “Kapoor and Sons”, says the fashion in Hindi cinema during the 1980s was “not” something “what he liked”.

Asked if B’Town influenced his fashion choices when he was growing up, Fawad told Colors Infinity channel’s “Born Stylish”: “As far as style is concerned, no. The Bollywood we were watching when we were growing up, it was that time when Amitabh Bachchan was doing films like ‘Satte Pe Satta’ and Anil Kapoor was doing ‘Mr. India’.”

“In the 80s, the film fashion was a bit something that was probably not in line with what I liked particularly,” he added.

The actor, who made his debut in Bollywood with “Khuda Kay Liye”, and gained recognition with the 2014 film “Khoobsurat”, says he “thought” men shouldn’t wear flared pants.

“For the longest time, they were wearing flared-bottom trousers; they would start flaring from the knee-down so that’s not the kind of fashion that I necessarily agree to. I never thought men should wear all those,” he said.

The actor, who has been lauded for being a lead actor in the TV show “Humsafar”, added that the fashion trend in the 1970s and 1980s did not “influence” his “kind of fashion”.
