Bollywood actor Esha Deol arranged a special screening for her brother Sunny Deol’s latest film Gadar 2 on Saturday. The movie, featuring Sunny and Ameesha Patel, released in theaters on August 11. Along with Sunny and Esha, the event was also attended by Bobby Deol and Ahana Deol. However, Dharmendra was not spotted at the event.

Sunny wore a light brown kurta with a black hat, while Bobby chose a black T-shirt and hat. Esha was also in a black outfit. Esha and Ahana are the daughters of Dharmendra from his second marriage to superstar Hema Malini. Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, also recently attended the premiere in Mumbai.

Recently, during the wedding of Sunny’s son Karan Deol, Hema Malini and her two daughters were not in attendance but later, Esha posted a heartfelt message for her nephew on social media.

The film had a powerful start at the box office, despite competing with films like OMG 2 and Jailer. On the first day, Gadar 2 collected an impressive Rs 40 crores. On the second day, it earned a massive Rs 43 crore nett, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the movie’s domestic collection to Rs 83.10 crore. Gadar 2 also became the second-highest opener of 2023, following Pathaan.

Gadar 2 is the sequel to Anil Sharma’s 2001 film Gadar Ek Prem Katha. The story is set against the backdrop of the tumultuous ‘Crush India Movement’ of 1971, with Sunny and Ameesha reprising their roles as Tara Singh and Sakeena. The plot revolves around Tara Singh’s journey to Pakistan to rescue his child, Charan Jeet Singh (played by Utkrash Sharma), from the Pakistani Army.
