Dunki Movie Release and Review Live Updates: Shah Rukh Khan’s third film this year, Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, is out in cinemas. The film is building on the massive success of SRK’s first two movies this year, Pathaan and Jawan, both of which grossed over Rs 1,000 crore globally. One of the most anticipated films of the year, Dunki, which marks the return of Hirani after five years, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar and Dia Mirza in key roles.
Meanwhile, the release of Dunki also marks the kick-off of the much-anticipated box office showdown in the country, wherein the SRK film is clashing with Prashanth Neel’s Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. While Dunki, a comedy-drama, grossed around Rs 30 crore on day 1 of its release, Salaar has earned around Rs 50 crore in advance booking as it releases. Unlike Salaar, which is being released in multiple languages, Dunki is available only in Hindi.
Ahead of Dunki’s release, Shah Rukh Khan was recently seen promoting the film in Dubai. Several videos, which surfaced on SRK’s fan clubs on social media, has the actor recreating his signature pose with his arms stretched out in the air during the drone show in Dubai. Shah Rukh was dressed in a black casual ensemble, paired with a red jacket as he was seen in a boat in Burj Lake. Along with SRK, the film’s director Rajkumar Hirani, and writer Abhijat Joshi were present at the promotional event.

Dunki box office day 2 updates: Shah Rukh Khan film makes Rs 9 cr in advance bookings
After earning around Rs 30 crore on opening day of its release, Dunki advance box office collection on day 2 was around Rs 9 crore. Friday is a working day and will also see the release of Prabhas' Salaar, impacting the box office of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer. The film is expected to pick up over the weekend with family audiences coming to watch it.
Dunki earns Rs 22 cr globally
Dunki earned $2.65 million (Rs 22 crore) internationally on day 1 of its release. This is the fourth highest global opening for a film in 2023, behind Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan, and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal.
