Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu were in a high-profile relationship for years, but they broke up during the filming of their 2002 film Raaz. In a recent interaction, Dino revealed that he was the one who initiated the breakup, and Bipasha found it very difficult to deal with it. Since they were parting ways while filming Raaz, the process of seeing and working with each other every day added another layer of complexity to their already strained relationship.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Dino admitted, “To be honest, it was me who was breaking up with her because we had some issues. She found it very tough, and I saw her every day on set, and she was upset. It was very tough at that point for me to see someone I really cared about, but we had already chosen different paths. We did try to fix it, but it didn’t happen, and I moved on.”
In an earlier interaction, Raaz director Vikram Bhatt had shared how Dino and Bipasha’s crumbling relationship affected the film. He recalled, “I remember a tragicomic situation where we were shooting for their wedding song, Main Agar Saamne. There’s this line in the song—Apni shaadi ke din ab nahi door hain—and it was during this scene that they were both fighting. I remember Bipasha crying and Dino being unhappy.” Vikram also mentioned that he had to step in and instruct them to keep their personal and professional lives separate.
