Strapline: Diljit Dosanjh, who performed in Mumbai to a packed stadium, shared visuals from the concert and spoke about breaking the Punjabi stereotype.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Mumbai concert night was memorable for many reasons. From star-studded concert-goers to the actor-singer hyping Crew co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan and the performance — which followed the premiere of his film Amar Singh Chamika — taking social media by storm, his Saturday concert was a night of fun and revelry, to say the least. A day after his show, Diljit took to his social media handles to give a peek into his concert and shared glimpses from the packed venue where female fans held placards with ‘Marry Me, Diljit’ written on them. Some were even seen shedding tears of happiness and excitement on seeing their favourite singer perform live. The Punjabis present in the crowd broke into bhangra as they enjoyed the concert.

A video sees Diljit interacting with fans from the stage and speaking about breaking the Punjabi stereotype. “They said Punjabis aren’t fashionable and I said, I will show you. They said Punjabis can’t act in films, I showed them I could. They said Punjabis can’t go to Mumbai, and I proved them wrong. They said Punjabis can’t sell tickets for the bar arena, I had the stadium packed at my concert. They said Punjabis can’t do Illuminati, I said, I will do ‘Di-Luminati,” said the actor-singer as he announced his Vancouver concert on April 27.
While celebs such as Varun Dhawan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vijay Varma, who were in attendance posted fun moments from Diljit’s concert — where the artiste belted out hit tracks like “Love”, “Naina”, “Vibe” and “Ek Kudi” etc on Saturday — the singer dropped a series of videos and photos from his concert on Sunday. Going by the visuals, Diljit, who is basking in the success of Imtiaz Ali-helmed biopic, had a blast performing for Mumbai.
