IMDb on Wednesday announced a new list: The top 100 most viewed Indian stars of the last decade (2014-20124) and it features some familiar and some unexpected names. The list is topped by actor Deepika Padukone, who is the most viewed Indian star of the last 10 years on IMDb.
The list has been curated based on the actual page views of more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide. While Deepika Padukone is ranked number one on the list, superstar Shah Rukh Khan follows her on number two, with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at number three. Alia Bhatt and Irrfan, who passed away in 2020, feature in rank fourth and fifth respectively.
The other five stars in the top 10 list include Aamir Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar respectively. Deepika Padukone, who made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om in 2007, has had a sensational last decade at the movies.
The decade-long phase for consideration of the list was especially brilliant for the actor, who was coming off hits like Cocktail, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ram Leela and saw a good run with more projects like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha and her Hollywood debut in 2017 with xXx: Return of Xander Cage, starring alongside Vin Diesel.
In 2023, she was a part of two blockbuster films, Pathaan and Jawan, both starring Shah Rukh Khan. Deepika will be next seen in Prabhas-led Kalki 2898 AD and Rohit Shetty’s actioner Singham Again, which will release in theaters later this year.

Even though no specific data is available, it is likely that both Sushant Singh Rajput and Irrfan’s pages on IMDb saw a spike in views after their unfortunate passing away in 2020, landing them in top 10 list. The top 10 list is also a surprise as it doesn’t include some of the popular names of the Hindi film industry, including Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor– all of them, who find a spot in top 20.
An interesting addition to the top 20 list is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who broke out to a wider audience with Pushpa’s chartbuster song and then with The Family Man season two. Even actor Triptii Dimri features on the list above stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Nayanthara and Ranveer Singh after having gained immense popularity with last year’s blockbuster Animal. Interestingly, Rashmika Mandanna, the lead star of Animal and Pushpa, landed on rank 78 on the list.

“It is noteworthy that the list of 100 stars includes actors from the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries. Kamal Haasan, at No. 54, has the longest film career in the list with his debut as a child actor in 1960. At No. 15, Triptii Dimri, who made her debut in 2017, is the newest star on the list,” the press release stated.
In the list, the stars who are ranked from 91-100 respectively are Sanya Malhotra, Vikram, Richa Chadha, Kalki Koechlin, Aditya Roy Kapur, Nora Fatehi, Priyamani, Ajith Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is at rank 100.
