The makers of Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava released the teaser of the song “Jaane Tu” on Thursday. The track, which will be released tomorrow, is composed by AR Rahman, crooned by Arijit Singh, and written by Irshad Kamil. The teaser gives a glimpse of Vicky and Rashmika’s chemistry in the movie.

In the 30-second-clip, Rashmika, who is essaying the role of Maharani Yesubai, the wife of Chhatrapati Maharaj, played by Vicky, welcomes him home with a puja thali in her hand and a smile on her face. The palace visuals and colour grading enhance the song’s richness and grandeur.

Along with the teaser on YouTube, the makers wrote, “Jaane Tu, Jaanu Main…The beginning of an inspirational romantic bond, come fall in love again with ‘Jaane Tu’! Combining the three maestros of music – A. R. Rahman, Arijit Singh and Irshad Kamil, it features Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in the video. From the highly anticipated movie Chhaava, the full song releases tomorrow. #JaaneTu #ARRahman #ArijitSingh #IrshadKamil #VickyKaushal #RashmikaMandanna #AkshayeKhanna #Chhaava #StayTuned.”

Recently, Chaava director Laxman Utekar landed in trouble after politicians and history enthusiasts objected to the ‘lezim’ dance sequence in the film. After a meeting with Raj Thackeray recently, Utekar had to delete the objectionable sequence from the movie, emphasising that the dance was not more significant than the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

Chhaava is a historical drama based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi book Chhava, the film, also featuring Akshaye Khanna in a pivotal role, is set to release in theatres on February 14.
