Chhaava box office collection day 19: Rashmika Mandanna beats this incredible Shah Rukh Khan record as Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster nears Rs 650 crore
Chhaava box office collection day 19: Vicky Kaushal's historical epic, directed by Laxman Utekar and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, is refusing to slow down at the box office after breaking past the Rs 600 crore barrier worldwide.

The historical drama Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, has emerged as one of the biggest Hindi-language films of all time. The movie is running in its third week now, and is making the most of a lack of competition. Chhaava will soon pass the Rs 500 crore mark domestically, becoming one of the rare films to do so. It would also mark the second time that a film produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films banner has achieved this feat, after last year’s Stree 2. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava collected Rs 5.5 crore on Tuesday, which takes its grand total in India to Rs 472 crore. It should be able to pass the Rs 500 crore mark this weekend.
Chhaava is not only Vicky’s highest-grossing film, it’s now also one of the highest-earning Indian films ever made, having overtaken Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju. On the all-time list of Hindi movies, Chhaava is currently ranked eight, just behind Ranbir’s Animal. If you were to remove the first and sixth highest-earning Hindi-language releases – Pushpa 2: The Rule and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion – on account of them being dubbed films, Chhaava would be the sixth-biggest film originally released in the Hindi language.

It will overtake Animal this weekend, after which it will target Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, both of which made around Rs 525 crore domestically. On the worldwide front, Chhaava is fast approaching the Rs 650 crore mark. The movie continues Rashmika Mandanna’s massive success streak, following Animal and Pushpa 2. Her last three films have now made over Rs 3000 crore worldwide – that’s more than Shah Rukh Khan’s last three films made combined.
During its run, Chhaava has also overtaken the earnings of Hollywood hits such as Avengers: Endgame and Avatar: The Way of Water in India. The movie has a strong chance of entering the top five highest-earning Hindi releases list, once it overtakes Pathaan and Gadar. This would mean that Maddock is responsible for two of the five biggest Hindi films of all time, considering Stree 2’s nearly Rs 600 crore final number. The biggest ‘Hindi’ release ever remains Pushpa 2, which made Rs 800 crore-plus.
