Veteran actor Govind Namdev, who was recently seen in Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer OMG 2, has spoken up about the A certificate that was given to the film by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Govind, in a Facebook post, said that the film had to undergo 24 cuts and eventually got a "senseless A certificate", thus, it could not be watched by teenagers who were the target audience of the film. Govind added that CBFC should rectify the certification and give the film a UA certificate for the "betterment of our society's teenagers upbringing." Govind also pointed out that CBFC should have been more careful while censoring Adipurush as they let it pass and instead, chopped up a "thoughtful" film like OMG 2. His Facebook post read, "OMG, O MY GOD is released finally with 24 Censor cuts n senseless A certificate so that teenagers should not see the movie for whom the movie is made And Censor has passed it!" He then wrote in Hindi, "The wisdom that the censor board should have used while censoring a nonsensical film like Adipurush, they have instead used it in chopping up a thoughtful and progressive film like OMG 2." He ended his post by writing, "It will be a wise step if Censor rectify its mistake n give at least UA certificate to let a positive revolution set in for the betterment of our society’s teenagers upbringing. Thunderous applause by the audiences in theatres today speaks volumes about the film. God bless …" Previously, Akshay had also said that OMG 2 was meant for teenagers but had gotten an adults only certificate. At a screening, Akshay said, "Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai joh teenagers ke liye bani hai. Actually yeh sab school main dikhana chahiye (The funny thing is that this is the first adult film which is made for teenagers. This should be shown in schools)." OMG 2 has generated positive word of mouth ever since its release on August 11. At the box office, the film has now crossed the Rs 100 crore mark globally, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
