Shaitaan box office collection day 7: Ajay Devgn’s horror film completes blockbuster first week, nears Rs 110 crore worldwide
Shaitaan box office collection day 7: After crossing the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office, Ajay Devgn's supernatural thriller will cross the milestone in India soon.

Shaitaan is on a roll. After entering the Rs 100 crore club globally, the Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyothika-starrer is now marching towards the Rs 100 crore mark domestically. According to industry tracking website Sacnilk the Vikas Bahl directorial earned Rs 5.75 crore at the box office on Thursday (day 7), taking its nett total to Rs 79.75 crore.
Shaitaan released in theatres worldwide on March 8. The horror film kick-started its box office run with an impressive debut, as it earned Rs 17.75 crore on its opening day. With a positive word-of-mouth, the film’s earnings continued to rise, as it raked in Rs 18.75 crore on the second day and Rs 20.5 crore on the third day, making it a grand opening weekend.
Shaitaan witnessed an overall 12.68 percent occupancy on Thursday. With 1073 shows in Mumbai the occupancy was 14 percent. In Delhi and NCR the occupancy was 14 percent as well, whereas in Chennai, where there were only 67 shows, the occupancy stood at 18.25 percent.
Shaitaan is a remake of the 2013 Gujarati movie Vash. While the film is doing well at the box office, it will soon face competition from Yodha, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani. Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, Yodha was released in theatres on March 15.
After Shaitaan, Ajay will be seen in Maidaan, which is scheduled to release in theatres on the occasion of Eid, in April. He then has Neeraj Pandey’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and Raj Kumar Gupta’s Raid 2, which is expected to be released in November.
Las year, Ajay was seen in Bholaa, along with Tabu. The film’s total worldwide collection was Rs 111.64 crore. Even after crossing the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office, the film was considered a big-budget disappointment. However, Ajay’s Drishyam 2 ended its theatrical run in India with an impressive Rs 239 crore.
