Its been over a week since Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat and Richa Chadha’s Fukrey 3 and Pallavi Joshi and Nana Patekar’s The Vaccine War clashed at the box office. The two films released in theatres on September 28. While Mrigdeep Singh Lamba’s directorial has witnessed an “impressive total” in its week-long run in theatres, Vivek Agnihotri’s medical drama continues to struggle at the bok office.

According to Jagran, Fukrey 3, on Thursday (October 5) eared Rs 3.25 crore, taking its total earnings to Rs 66.15 crore. The comedy film is expected to cross Rs 70 crore mark at the box office tomorrow. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, The Vaccine War on the other hand earned Rs 47 lakh, and its total earnings stand at Rs 8.59 crore.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in one of his recent speeches in Jodhpur, Rajasthan mentioned Vivek Agnihotri’s film and congratulated him for celebrating Indian scientists who participated in the war against Covid-19 by creating the Covaxin vaccine.

Speaking in Hindi, PM Modi said, ““I have heard that a film called The Vaccine War has been released, which depicts the relentless efforts of our country’s scientists who worked day and night, dedicating themselves to the cause of fighting COVID in their labs, like sages. Even our female scientists have worked so wonderfully. In this film, all these aspects have been portrayed. Indians are filled with pride after watching the film, knowing what our scientists have done. I congratulate the makers of this film for highlighting the importance of scientists and science.”

After PM Modi lauded the film, the film starring Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen and Anupam Kher is expected to see a rise in footfall at cinema halls.
