Bindu says Zeenat Aman was the biggest flirt of the ’70s, nobody can throw parties like Raj Kapoor

Yesteryear actor Bindu opened up about her contemporaries from the '70s era, and praised Amitabh Bachchan as an actor, and Raj Kapoor as a host.

Yesteryear actor Bindu answered a series of rapid fire questions about her contemporaries from the 70s, and revealed who, according to her, was the biggest flirt in the film industry, threw the best parties, and was most capable of improvising a scene.

The actor, who was best known for her dance sequences and vamp roles, was interviewed by Bollywood Hungama. She also revealed her ‘craziest fan experience’, and said that a man once multiple letters to her in his own blood. “Jab letters aate the haath lagane ka dil nahi karta tha… Usme likha rehta tha ke yeh mera blood group hai (When the letters would come, I wouldn’t want to touch them. He used to write that this is my blood group). He was such a mad fellow.” She said that she still can’t shake the memory off, and had decided to go to the police if the letters didn’t stop. But they eventually did.

In the same interview, she was asked to name the one 70s actor who used to flirt with their co-stars the most. Bindu said, “Kaun kar raha tha? Zeenat Aman.” She scrunched up her face and apologised, “Sorry, Zeenat ji!” She was then asked to name the one actor of her generation who could improvise entire scenes. She said, “Definitely Amitabh Bachchan, and then Rajesh Khanna.” She said that the actor who used to dress the most stylishly was Sharmila Tagore. “She was always conscious of everything. Perfect.”

Asked to name the one film industry personality who would throw the best parties, she said, “Nobody could compare to Raj Kapoor. He was famous for his parties. Unke jaisi party na kisi ne di hai, na koi de payega, kitni bhi koshish kar le, woh baat nahi ayegi (Nobody has and ever will be able to throw parties like him. They can try, but it wouldn’t be the same).”

Bindu is known for films such as Do Raaste, Kati Patang, Ittefaq, and Abhimaan. Zeenat Aman has recently gained a new generation of fans on social media, after making her debut on Instagram.
