Ananya Panday says she once burned photographs of her ex to get over a heartbreak: ‘Nice way to release frustration’

Ananya Panday, who is currently busy promoting Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL, opened up about dealing with heartbreak and how her approach has evolved over time. In a candid conversation, the actor revealed that once, after a break up, she actually burned the photographs of her ex-partner. She also added that she now handles things more maturely.

Talking to Galatta India, when asked how she copes with breakups, Ananya responded, “Just deal with it. Nothing is permanent. You will figure it out. It will get better, and knowing that is good enough.” When filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane was asked the same question, he emphasised the importance of confronting heartbreak and said, “You have to face it, either by talking to someone or burning photographs.” The filmmaker subtly pointed toward Ananya as he mentioned the latter.

Ananya was then asked again if she burns photographs of her ex and she revealed, “I don’t do that now, but I have done it. It’s not like I’m the only person on earth who has done this. A lot of people have. It’s a nice way to release your frustration.” Ananya went on to reference Kareena Kapoor’s character from Jab We Met, acknowledging that she identifies with Geet in real life.

Ananya Panday was rumoured to be dating actor Aditya Roy Kapur, but according to reports, the couple, who had been together since 2022, reportedly parted ways in May this year.
