Ananya Panday recently opened up about her experience of attending Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in July this year. The Student Of The Year 2 star dismissed rumours about Bollywood celebrities being paid to attend the high-profile Ambani wedding, and clarified that she attended because Anant and Radhika’s wedding are her friends.
During a conversation on Mashable India, Ananya was asked about her dancing energetically at Anant’s baraat. Responding to same, she said, “They are my friends. I don’t understand why people think like this. Obviously, I’ll dance wholeheartedly at my friends’ wedding. I love celebrating love.”
The actor spoke fondly about the strong connection she witnessed between Anant and Radhika, describing their relationship as “pure love”. She said, “One big takeaway from the wedding was that so much was happening, but whenever Anant and Radhika would look at each other, it was just pure love. It felt like violins were playing behind them. That’s something I want in life — that no matter how much chaos is around, you and that person share that connection.”
Ananya Panday also shared how the Ambani family ensured every guest felt welcome and appreciated. “They made everyone feel welcome. No matter how many functions were there, they greeted everyone with so much love and warmth. That’s such a beautiful quality because it makes everything feel very personal,” she said.
After many pre-wedding festivities, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot on July 12. The lavish wedding was attended by various Bollywood stars, athletes, business leaders and diplomats.
On the professional front, Ananya Panday is currently riding high on the success of her first web series Call Me Bae. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment and directed by Colin D’Cunha, the show features a talented ensemble cast, including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur in pivotal roles.
