Amitabh Bachchan-Abhishek Bachchan buy 10 apartments worth Rs 25 cr, their real estate portfolio hits Rs 100 crore in 2024
Abhishek Bachchan has acquired six new apartments for Rs 14.77 crore, while Amitabh Bachchan purchased four apartments for Rs 10.18 crore in Mulund west, a central suburban area in Mumbai.

Amitabh Bachchan and his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, have made a major investment in Mumbai’s real estate market, purchasing properties worth Rs 24.95 crore in the central suburban side of the city, in Mulund West. This strategic acquisition brings their total real estate investments in 2024 to Rs 100 crore, solidifying their position as major players in the city’s property market.
The Bachchans have acquired 10 apartments in Oberoi Realty’s premium residential project, Eternia, according to registration documents accessed by the online platform for property sales, Square Yards. The residential project offers ready-to-move-in 3 BHK (Bedroom- Hall- Kitchen) and 4 BHK apartments. The properties span a total carpet area of 10,216 square feet, with eight apartments boasting 1,049 square feet each and two apartments measuring 912 square feet per unit. Each transaction includes two car parking spaces, and the deal incurred a total stamp duty of Rs 1.5 crore.

Abhishek Bachchan has acquired six of these apartments for Rs 14.77 crore, while Amitabh Bachchan purchased the remaining four apartments for Rs 10.18 crore. Since 2020, the Bachchan family has emerged as a leading force in Mumbai’s celebrity real estate landscape. According to Square Yards, they have purchased approximately 0.19 million square feet of property in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with a total investment value of Rs 219 crore.
The Bachchan family’s recent investment in Mulund West, a central suburban neighborhood in Mumbai, diverges from the typical Bollywood preference for western suburbs like Juhu, Bandra, and Goregaon. Historically, many Bollywood celebrities have favoured these western suburbs for their real estate investments. Alternatively, some, such as Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan, Ranveer Singh nd Deepika Padukone have also opted for Alibaug, a nearby beach destination.
Mulund is, however, strategically located and has easy access to central and western Mumbai, as well as Pune. This makes the neighbourhood a popular residential hub.
The Bachchan family’s real estate investments have been making headlines, with Abhishek also investing in another lavish property in Borivali, which is still under development. He has had purchased six apartments in Borivali’s Oberoi Sky City project, for over Rs 15 crore. This investment is part of the Bachchan family’s substantial real estate portfolio in Mumbai. Interestingly, his father, Amitabh Bachchan, also acquired two luxury apartments in the same area, worth nearly Rs 7 crore, on May 29, 2024. Akshay Kumar too has, reportedly, invested in the same project.
