‘Alia Bhatt was a baby…people thought Varun and Sidharth had better chance of making it’: Ram Kapoor

He added that many people thought that Alia Bhatt’s Student of the Year co-stars Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra stood a better chance in the film industry. “She was a small little baby, literally. She still had baby cheeks. She is not the Alia of today. For Varun and Siddharth, people thought that maybe they have a chance, but Alia was such a baby. Looking at what she has achieved today, hats off!”

The Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actor now feels that Alia Bhatt has transformed completely and works with a lot of professionalism. “She is so professional. I know ad filmmakers who have done ads with her. Do you know that on sets, she calls every single director ‘Sir’, even if he is younger than her,” he said.

The 51-year-old also called Alia the next Deepika Padukone. “She is Alia Bhatt today, married to a Kapoor. If she goes the way she is going now, she will be Deepika. She is not a bloody star child. She is more professional than anyone, I have seen it. In today’s time, if you are not like that, the industry says bye.”

On the work front, Ram Kapoor was last seen in the Jio Studios series Khalbali Records. Alia Bhatt, meanwhile, is gearing up for the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, also starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
