Alia Bhatt had three requests for her mehendi design at her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor, reveals artist Jyoti Chedda: ‘Wrapped her mehendi in half an hour’
The mehendi artist for Alia Bhatt's wedding, Jyoti Chedda, has opened up about the brief she got from the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor for her wedding.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director Karan Johar recently shared at the film’s success meet that Alia Bhatt’s wedding sequence in the film was shot just four days after her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor and the actor sported the same mehendi in the song that she wore for her wedding. Now, the mehendi artist for Alia’s wedding, Jyoti Chedda, has opened up about the brief she got from Alia for her wedding.
Jyoti told The Times of India that since Alia’s theme was minimalistic, she wanted to maintain the same vibe in her mehendi design as well. She shared that Alia wanted mandala art, and infinity symbol and husband Ranbir’s name incorporated in the mehendi. And since Alia wanted to have fun at her mehendi function, the artist made sure that Alia’s mehendi was done in half an hour. “We wrapped her minimalistic designs on both hands in around half an hour,” she said.
Karan’s comments sparked some debate as mehendi artist Veena Nagda, who worked on the film, said that she made some changes in the design on the set in Jaisalmer. Sharing photos on Instagram, Veena wrote, “Movies work in a different manner” and pointed out the many changes that she had done on the design.

Jyoti also spoke about the same and said that she appreciated the additions that were made on the set of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani but added that it was her team that laid the groundwork for the design.
Alia Bhatt got married to Ranbir Kapoor at a lowkey wedding in April 2022.
