Ali Fazal must have had his share of unusual fan encounters over the years, but there’s little chance of him having ever been called a python. But that has now changed. Recently, the actor couldn’t help but react when a fan called him ‘Ali Ajgar (python)’ instead of Ali Fazal. He took to Instagram to talk about this hilarious incident. Ali Asgar is another popular actor, who works mainly in television.

On Friday afternoon, while Ali was dropping his wife Richa Chadha at the Mumbai airport, they got recognised by a few fans. Excited to meet them, a lady yelled Ali’s name but called him ‘Ali Ajgar.’ This made Ali chuckle, but he tried to control his laughter. While the couple were talking, the fans approached them for selfies, forcing them to leave their conversation and part ways. The female fan even came close to Richa, touched her cheek, and said, “Kitne pyaare lag rahe ho (You are looking so sweet).” The Fukrey couple were amused but also looked a little uncomfortable.

Ali reacted to this episode in a note shared on Instagram. He wrote, “Today’s name warp was legendary: I was frantically called Ali Fazal which with some froth and desperation has morphed into Ali ‘Ajgar’ aka Python. So I hissed a little instead of the usual ‘cheese’ maybe only I noticed the hiss but it was hissarious.”

Ali and Richa met on the sets of 2012 release Fukrey, and have been together for almost a decade now. They tied the knot in 2020. However, in October 2022, they threw grand receptions in Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow.

In an interview with GQ, Ali spoke about his marriage to Richa. He said, “I’ve seen very few marriages work in my life, so I’d like to disprove that. But aside from that, there’s something spiritual I share with Richa. And I thank her for that because she’s made me more spiritually aware than I was before.”
