Akshay Kumar addresses using ‘F word’ in Kesari 2 trailer, reveals his father was born opposite Jallianwala Bagh: ‘Agar goli maar di hoti…’
At the trailer launch of his film Kesari Chapter 2, actor Akshay Kumar opened up about listening to horrific stories of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre from his father.

The highly-anticipated trailer of Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday and R Madhavan’s Kesari Chapter 2 was released on Thursday, April 3. The film is set against the backdrop of the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre. What grabbed everyone’s attention in the teaser was Akshay’s uncensored expletive. At the trailer launch of Kesari 2 on Thursday, the actor addressed using the ‘F word’ and opened up about how his father and grandfather told him stories about the tragic incident.
At the event, a journalist asked him about dropping the F-bomb, to which Akshay Kumar replied, “Yes, I used this word. I am amazed to see that you noticed this, but the phrase ‘you are still a slave’ didn’t grab your attention. Wasn’t it a big gaali for you? Usse badi gaali aur kuch nahi ho sakti. I would have been happy if you would have said that they used the word ‘slave’ rather than you talking about ‘f you’. Aise time par, agar unhone goli bhi maar di hoti toh bhi chotta rehta.”

The actor also shared that his father was born near Jallianwala Bagh, and his grandfather witnessed the tragedy. “I was born in Old Delhi, not Amritsar. This film is a very personal and important film. My dad was born just opposite Jallianwala Bagh, there’s an aaloo katra gali there. In fact, my grandfather saw all of this happening around him. We have made this film with anger. I heard the stories from my dad, he heard them from my grandfather. The director Karan also told me a lot more about whatever happened,” he added.
Kesari 2 showcases the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the courtroom fight led by lawyer C Sankaran Nair. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film will release on the big screen on April 18.
