Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty confirm a series of films: Dhamaal, Dabangg vs Singham, Shaitaan, Golmaal, Unsung Hero, a jungle adventure
Singham Again was just a setup for future projects, shared Rohit Shetty. Both Rohit and Ajay Devgn have planned a line-up of films which will include some of their famous franchises like Golmaal, Dhamaal, Sooryavanshi, and Simmba.

Singham Again is just the beginning of the many films lined up for both Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty as actor and director, respectively. With their latest cop drama being a success among the audience, in a new interview, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn shared updates about their various projects, both collaborative and independent . The actor-director duo shared updates about Chulbul Panday vs Singham film, the sequel of Shaitaan, Simmba, Sooryavanshi and new films in the Golmaal, and Dhamaal franchise, among others. Ajay Devgn also spoke about working on a jungle-themed adventure as well as a new addition in the Unsung Hero franchise. A script is also being written for Shaitaan and Drishyam films.
‘Singham Again is a set-up film’
Beginning with bringing so many stars together in Singham Again, Rohit Shetty shared his vision. He told Pinkvilla, “Everyone came because it is Singham. And from this film, they will branch out–the characters. Technically, it was their intro. So when you see the film, it’s like the squad has come up and Singham is the main boss of the squad and these are the officers then the journey will go ahead. Basically, it is an introductory to what is coming in future.”
When the interviewer asked, “Basically, this was your set-up film like the Avengers where all the characters came together and then they had their individual films.” Rohit Shetty quickly said, “I can’t compare with them (Avengers). You can maybe call that, but If I do, I will be trolled.”
Chulbul vs Singham
Rohit Shetty then shared the reason behind bringing Chulbul Panday in the film. He said, “It was Salman sir’s vision that Chulbul and Singham should come together once. That’s why it happened. And then it’s a long journey. We have to plan things and go ahead with all the characters and see where it is going. It was being planned for a long time.”
When asked, “Do you have any plans of Chulbul vs Singham?”, the ace director said, “It just has been a week since the film has released. Give me some time. I have announced a film with the two characters, but it will take time.” He added, “Chulbul Panday vs Singham film has to be a stand alone film. It cannot be a universe.”
Ajay-Akshay to collaborate for a comedy drama?
During the conversation, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty also shared the vision of a potential comedy drama starring Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. When asked, “Have you and Akshay sir ever discussed a comedy film with Rohit Shetty starring the both of you?” Ajay Devgn said, “I have never thought of that but it’s not a bad idea. And now that you have said it, we will talk about it.”
Rohit Shetty, agreed to this and said, “Actually yeah. It’s a great idea.”
‘Golmaal will be my next film’
Speaking of making a comedy film, Rohit Shetty, who has not made any comedy film since 2018, shared, “We will make Golmaal 5 soon. I think before any cop film for sure. Golmaal will be next. Golmaal is like a detox. I mean , you have made such a big film, and now you want to do something and the whole atmosphere is also lighter and happier when you are making Golmaal. After films like Singham Again, I look forward to go to the other world. I have done enough serious actions, too much special effects, and an entire team coming from abroad. Golmaal is like a breather.”
He also added, how over the years, another comedy film of his has gained a cult following. He said, “All the Best is becoming like a cult. People have started asking me, ‘Why are you not making another film, another All the Best?'”
Ajay shares making of multiple projects
In the interview, Ajay Devgn also shared updates about his films Son of Sardar 2 and a film on an Unsung Hero, which will be added to the franchise of his 2020 hit film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. “We are working on something in Unsung Heroes franchise. As soon as we lock up the script, we will let you know’, said the Golmaal star. Speaking about Son of Sardar 2, Ajay said, they have almost completed the shoot for the film.
Apart from these, Ajay Devgn also confirmed the making of another film in the franchise of Dhamaal. He even shared that the script for Shaitaan 2 and Drishyam 3 is being written. Ajay Devgn also shared about his plans of working in a jungle adventure film. He said, “We are working on a few things right now, however, nothing has been planned.”
Sooryavanshi, Simmba will have more films
Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty confirmed the sequels of Sooryavanshi and Simmba. He said, “As I said, again a cop film will take some time, maybe a year or so. But yes, after that I will plan (Sooryavanshi). It is too early to say which cop film I will plan first.”
When a member in the audience asked if he ever thought of bringing characters of his two universes (Golmaal, and cop universe) together, the director laughed and said, “Simmba in Golmaal: That will become too much. Merepe taras khao. (Show me some mercy). That universe coming here and this universe going there… Simmba will happen for sure because that’s the most loved character in the cop universe, but like I said, I will first concentrate on a comedy and then a cop film. Because it will become too much for the audience as well as I have constantly been making cop films.”
