Aamir Khan is a part of the iconic “trinity” of the Hindi film industry, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Together, the three of them have dominated Bollywood as its most influential figures over the past three decades. However, in a recent conversation, Aamir emphasised that it’s not just the three of them who have survived for over 30 years in the industry, but also actors like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and others, who have significantly shaped Hindi cinema over this period. During an interaction with The Hollywood Reporter India, when Aamir was asked about his views on the future of stardom, he responded, "I have to say that it isn't just Salman, Shah Rukh and me who have lasted for 35 years. There's Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, there have been a lot of actors who have been along with us. So, it's inaccurate that just three us have been there for 35 years." The interview also touched upon the memorable final scene in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which featured a cameo by Salman Khan. In this scene, Salman’s character delivers a humorous, tongue-in-cheek line: “Humein hi karna padega bhai. Desh ka sawal hai, bachon pe nahi chhod sakte (We have to handle it, brother. It’s about the nation; we can’t leave it to the kids).” Laughing about the scene, Aamir reacted, saying, “All the young actors must have gotten really upset, but you can’t even get too upset with Shah Rukh and Salman. Kya kar sakte hai (What can they do?)” Aamir’s last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office, earning approximately Rs 130 crore against a substantial budget of Rs180 crore. Despite high expectations, the film was a disappointment commercially. Now, Aamir is gearing up for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna and produced by himself and his ex-wife Kiran Rao. This film is a spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par and features him alongside Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh.
