Year Ender 2023: Colleges across the country provide scholarships to meritorious and deserving students every year. While some scholarships are in the form of college fee concessions, others come as direct benefit transfers to the bank accounts of the students.
This year, some of the top educational institutions have launched scholarships for meritorious students. Here is the complete list.
Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad)
IIM Ahmedabad earlier this year announced a total of 30 new scholarships for the Class of 2023-25. The scholarships, contributed by the institute alumni through the IIM A Endowment Fund, will provide a total of 10 scholarships of Rs 10 lakh each and 20 scholarships of Rs 5 lakh each in the first year and second years of their study.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)
IIT Madras student pursuing BS in Data Science Applications will get a full scholarship. The IIT Madras scholarship has been launched this year in partnership with Cargill, a US-global food and agriculture corporation. Students will be chosen based on the merit-cum-means scholarship qualifying criterion.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU)
BHU has established four new scholarships for the students of chemistry and law at the university. The new BHU scholarships have been instituted as the university received a donation of Rs 20 lakh under the Pratidana initiative to set up these scholarships. The four new scholarships will be awarded from the academic session 2024-25.
Two more scholarships were established by the university earlier this year for the students of MA in Hindi. The scholarships for MA Hindi students were set up to be provided on merit-cum-means basis and would be given to one man and one woman student.
NIIT University
The NIIT University (NU) this year has announced new scholarships for the students of UG and PG programmes for the academic year 2023. The new scholarship under the scholar search programme, are available for BBA, MBA and BTech programmes in CSE (Computer Science and Engineering), ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering), DS (Data Science), CyS (Cyber Security), BT (Biotechnology) and Integrated MSc (Computer Science).
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
The Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham earlier this year announced a 20 per cent scholarship on the first semester fee for all women learners enrolling at any of the online programmes at Amrita AHEAD. Students in their final year could also apply with the last completed semester results.
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur)
IIT Kanpur this year launched a special scholarship for the all-India top 100 rank-holders of JEE Advanced. The scholarships for the top 100 rank holders covered all the expenses including tuition and living during their stay at IIT Kanpur.
