Every year on December 22, Indians celebrate National Mathematics Day to honour the birth anniversary of a man for whom the world of mathematics was nothing short of magic. He is said to be the man who is said to know ‘infinity’. Yes! you are right, we are talking about India’s great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. He was born on December 22, 1887, in Erode Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, on September 26, 34 new test cities were added in the exam centre list for its 2025 edition. This decision was taken to accommodate the increasing demand for XAT 2025. Among these newly added locations are Anantapur, Arrah, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Bilaspur, Mehsana, Baddi, Chikkaballapur, Davanagere, Hazaribagh, Hisar, Kalaburagi (Gulbarga), Kurukshetra, Shimla, Ajmer, Balasore, Bikaner, Dhenkanal, Jodhpur, Kolhapur, Nanded, Patiala, Sikar, Ujjain, Karimnagar, Salem, Vellore, Aligarh, Bareilly, Haldwani, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, and Kalyani.
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) has registered a surge in registrations this year, reaching an all-time high of 142,235 applications. Last year, the number of applications had increased from 96,438 in 2023 to 1.35 lakh in 2024.
While during the pandemic, the entrance test witnessed a dip in the applications — about 79,843 in 2021 — however, it has steadily increased since 2023.
The increase in registration numbers can also be attributed to a strategic outreach campaign supported by associate business schools, aimed at dispelling myths and positioning XAT as a test for the smartest aspirants, the official statement read.
The XAT score is accepted by more than 160+ management institutes across the country including Kalinga University, BIMTECH Birla Institute, Flame University, GITAM, LPU, IMI among others.
