West Bengal 12th Result 2023 Declared: The West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) today declared the results of HS board exams with a record 89.25 per cent candidates clearing the exams. Students who appeared for the exams can check their results at - wbresults.nic.in or indiaresult.com. This year, a total 8,52,444 students enrolled for the Uchha Madhyamik exam out of which total 8,24,891 students appeared in the exam. Out of this, total 7,37,807 students cleared the HS exam. The pass percentage among male students is 91.86 per cent while the same for female students is 87.26 per cent. Subhrangsu Sardar from Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in South 24 Parganas district topped the exam after scoring 496 marks out of total 500 marks (99.2 per cent). WBCHSE president Chiranjib Bhattacharya during a news conference announced the class 12 state board result. "Those who appeared in this year's higher secondary examination did not appear in Madhyamik examination (class 10 state board) exam in 2021 as the same was not held that year due to covid-19 pandemic situation. This year the HS results have been declared in 57 days after concluding the exam. In 2024, the HS exam will be held from February 16 to 29," said Bhattacharya. The class 10 state board exam was not held in 2021 due to covid-19 pandemic. All students who had enrolled for the class 10 board exam in 2021 were declared successful. Total 52,878 students (6.66 per cent of total success students) scored 80 per cent and above marks. Total 2,73,580 students (38.65 per cent of total successful students) scored 60 per cent and above marks. Meanwhile, total 11 districts registered over 90 per cent pass percentage with Purba Medinipur district topping the list after recording 95.75 per cent pass percentage. The pass percentage among students belonging to minority communities is 87.58 per cent while the same for students belonging to SC/ST communities is 87.75 per cent. This year, total 87 students featured in the top 10 merit list out of which 18 are from Hooghly district.
