Considering the continuous rainfall in Dehradun, the local administration on September 16 has ordered the closure of all government, non-government, and private schools up to Class 12 for the day. Anganwadi centers will also remain closed on September 16, 2025. According to the advisory, continuous heavy rain may trigger landslides, disrupt traffic, and cause waterlogging in low-lying areas.
The National Disaster Alert Portal issued a “Red Alert” warning for the region early this morning, highlighting the possibility of intense downpours accompanied by thunderstorms.

The district administration has urged residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel. It also directed school authorities to ensure that no academic or extracurricular activities take place today.
District officials have assured that necessary arrangements are being made to handle any emergency arising out of the heavy rainfall situation.
