(Representative image)UPSC Prelims 2024 Notification Live Updates: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today (February 14) released the notification and has started the application process for Civil Services Examinations (CSE) 2024. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online at the official website – upsconline.nic.in. The UPSC CSE prelims exam will be held on May 26, 2024 and the mains exams are set to be held from September 20 for five days.
As many as 1,056 vacancies have been announced this year for CSE and 150 in IFoS. The number of vacancies have seen a drop from last year.
Last year, UPSC had notified 1105 vacancies for the civil services exam. The Civil Services preliminary examination was last year scheduled to be held on May 28 while the main examination was conducted from September 15.
As the application forms are released, the eligibility criteria have also be released. Candidates should be aware of the eligibility criteria before filling the form. The exam notification is available at the official website of UPSC – upsc.gov.in. The UPSC CSE 2024 exam will be held in three stages — prelims, mains and interview.

UPSC 2024 Notification Live Updates: Minimum educational qualification
A candidate, accordin to UPSC, must hold a graduate degree from any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification to become eligible for UPSC CSE 2024 exam.

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2024 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1992 and not later than August 1, 2003, UPSC said while releasing the CSE notification.

Allotment of Centres will be on the "first-apply-first allot" basis, and once the capacity of a particular centre is attained, the same will

This year, the commission has notified a total of 1,056 vacancies for CSE and 150 for IFoS. The commission advertised 1,105 posts last year in CSE which was higher than this year.
