Over 55 lakh students appears for UP board Class 10th, 12th exams

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Board (UPMSP) on February 22 started conducting the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2024. The UP board exams will conclude on March 9.

A total of 25,60,882 students have registered for the UPMSP Class 12 exams this year including 14,12,806 male students and 11,48,076 females. Nearly 29.47 lakh students registered for Class 10 exams, out of which 15.71 lakh are male candidates and 13.76 are female candidates. The exams will be held at 8,265 examination centres across the state.

As per the official schedule, the UP Board exams will be held in two shifts – morning shift from 8:30 am to 11:45 am and evening shift from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.

Students appearing for the UP board exams have been instructed to reach at least an hour before the exam commences, to ensure they can go through the security check and find their allotted room and seat within the stipulated time.

Measures against cheating

It is mandatory for students to carry their admit cards to the exam centre, as no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without showing the hall tickets first.

This year, the UPMSP board will be live monitoring all exam centres across the state to curb cheating cases in the state board exams. “At the state level, along with the Directorate of Secondary Education, Lucknow, Command and Control Centres have also been established in the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, Lucknow and Council Headquarters, Prayagraj and five regional offices, through which live monitoring of all the examination centres and district level control and monitoring centres of the state can be done. Monitoring will be done,” an official statement read.

Additionally, the UP board has also launched helpline numbers for students. Two helpline numbers (1800 180 6607/8) have been established to resolve queries of candidates and for counselling.
