UGC releases list of central universities granted Graded Autonomy

Universities listed under the category 1 are Central University of Rajasthan, Central Sanskrit University, University of Delhi and Central University of South Bihar.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Tuesday, March 5 released the list of central universities that have been granted Graded Autonomy under University Grants Commission (Categorization of Universities (only) for Grant of Graded Autonomy) Regulations, 2018.

Universities listed under the category 1 are Central University of Rajasthan, Central Sanskrit University, University of Delhi and Central University of South Bihar.

Central universities under the category 2 are University of Hyderabad, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Central University of Punjab and Central University of Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Commission has directed the higher educational institutions (HEIs) to refund the fees of the students who have migrated to different institutes. The commission had earlier, too, requested institutes to allow a full refund of the college fees within a specified period to opt for a course they choose.

As per the UGC Redressal of Grievances of Students Regulation 2023, “..delay in or denial of the refund of fees due to a student who withdraws admission within the time mentioned in the prospectus, subject to guidelines, issued by the commission from time to time.”
