The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) is one of the best institutions for engineering in the country. This year, a total of 2,127 candidates have achieved their degrees from the institute that hosted its 56th convocation on July 3.
It has consistently maintained one of the top spots in the field of research and engineering over the years. It also offers management programmes as well.

IIT Kanpur has also boycotted‘ THE World University Rankings along with IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur.
IIT Kanpur was established on November 2, 1959 and the first batch of students was admitted in August 1960. IIT Kanpur was the first institute in the country to introduce science based engineering curriculum at the undergraduate level. The institute currently have 24 departments for various BTech, BS, MTech, MSc, MS, dual degree programmes, MBA and PhD programmes.
