Based in Delhi, Varsha Arora has secured all India rank (AIR) 2 in the CA Final examination hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Shivam Mishra has topped the exam while the third spot is shared by two candidates — Kiran Manral and Ghilman Saalim Ansari.

Speaking with indianexpress.com, Arora said working hard is her success mantra and then she left everything else to God. “I took coaching classes for four subjects out of six, and in the last 6-7 months, I started with self-study and revisions and gave two mock tests,” she said.

Arora started her CA journey in 2019 and said she took coaching for difficult subjects and focused on covering limited content and left some parts. However, whatever she studied, she ensured to have an in-depth knowledge about it. For this 25-year-old, advanced financial management was an easy subject as it is related to finances where she has a keen interest while she considers auditing a difficult subject.

“The reason why I considered auditing difficult is because it is purely theoretical in nature,” said the topper who scored 95 per cent in Class 12. For her preparation, Varsha studied for 8- 10 hours and increased the time limit as the examination came near.

Recalling her study hours, she said, “One month before the ICAI CA Final examination, I studied for 12-14 hours and focussed on ICAI study material, past year papers, revision test papers and mock test papers.”

Thanking her parents for constant encouragement the AIR 2 said, “My parents and my sister always motivated me to move ahead. Whenever I felt a little stressed, I used to talk to them and walk for 30-40 minutes.”

She also deleted Instagram from her phone to eliminate any distractions, but remained active on YouTube and WhatsApp. When asked where she sees herself after five years she said, “I see myself in a position where I will be able to help corporates companies grow by constantly learning and applying my learnings to the requirements of my responsibilities. I also see myself mentoring my juniors to excel in their CA journey.”
