Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) has been ranked as India’s top business school and at 35th rank globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management (FT MiM) global ranking 2024.
In the rankings released on Sunday, SPJIMR is followed by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A) at the second spot in India and at the 39th rank globally. IIM Ahmedabad is followed by IIM Bangalore which has been ranked at the 41st spot globally.
This time, SPJIMR, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore are the only three Indian institutes to secure a rank in the top 50 institutes of the world.
At the fourth rank (in India) is IIM Lucknow which has ranked at 55th spot globally, and is followed by IIM Calcutta at the 56th rank. These two IIMs are followed by XLRI — Xavier School of Management at the 65th global rank, followed by IIM Kozhikode at the 68th rank.
The other Indian institutes in the top 100 are SCMHRD at the 76th spot, IIM Udaipur at 81st spot, IIM Indore at 83, Management Development Institute Gurgaon at 85, International Management Institute New Delhi at 86, NMIMS Mumbai, School of Business Management at 94 and Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad at the 97th spot.
In total, there are 21 Indian institutes in the FT rankings of MiM course this year.
A Master’s in Management (MiM) is a graduate-level business degree that prepares a student for managerial and leadership roles. Through this programme, graduates are able to get their foot in the door for entry-level management opportunities and grow from there to higher positions.
Globally, Switzerland’s University of St Gallen has achieved the top rank, followed by France’s HEC Paris, Insead and Edhec Business School at the second, third and fourth spot respectively. China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Antai has sealed the top five category this year.
Interestingly, six out of top 10 institutes are from France and there are 24 French institutes in the top 100 list. However, China only has two institutes in this list — Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Antai and Tongji University School of Economics and Management.
