NEET UG 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently clarified that no cut off date for SC/ST certificate in favour of concerned candidates has been stipulated. The clarification was issued at the official NTA website — neet.nta.nic.in.
This clarification has been issued in reference to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergradute (NEET UG) 2023. “With respect to the Information Bulletin for NEET (UG) – 2023, it is clarified that no cut off date for SC/ST certificate in favour of concerned candidates has been stipulated,” the official notification stated.
“Clause 6.2.3 of the Information Bulletin for NEET (UG) – 2023 has been amended accordingly. Para (1) and para (2) of Appendix-XB in the Information Bulletin have also been updated,” the notification added.
The NTA also clarified that no such cut off date is applicable in the SC/ST certificate format given at Appendix-XA, nor in the online application form for NEET UG 2023.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bharati Pravin Pawar informed the Parliament that there has been an increase of 97 per cent in MBBS seats. The seats have increased from 51,348 before 2014 to 101,043 as of now, out of which 52,778 are available in the government medical colleges and the rest 48,265 seats are available in the private medical colleges.
Additionally, the Dept of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh also announced addition of 1,300 new MBBS seats in medical colleges run by the state government. As many as 13 new medical colleges will start from the 2023-24 academic year, it said.
