NEET UG 2025 Exam Analysis Updates: Students rate Physics challenging among all

Kerala police took into custody a staff member from an Akshaya centre after a student attempted to sit the NEET examination using a forged hall ticket in Pathanamthitta.

The case was registered on Sunday following a complaint from an exam coordinator, who noticed discrepancies in a student's admit card.

The student's mother had paid Rs 1,250 to the Akshaya centre to apply for the NEET exam the application was never submitted, as per police sources.

When the mother asked for the hall ticket, the staff member created a fake one and sent it to her via WhatsApp.

The Chemistry section of NEET UG 2025 challenged students with tough application-based questions, demanding thorough understanding beyond textbook theory, according to experts.

26 students already enrolled in MBBS courses have been suspended for helping aspirants through unfair means.

The candidature of 215 students who appeared for the NEET UG 2025 examination has been put on hold on grounds of unfair practices, according to official sources in the Union Health Ministry.

Almost all the questions in the Biology section of NEET UG 2025 were based on the NCERT textbooks, except for one statement that wasn’t part of the prescribed text. Several questions directly mirrored the wording from the NCERT material.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) cracked down on a gang involved in rigging the NEET UG exam, among other exams, arresting three individuals in Noida. As per reports, the gang demanded money from candidates' relatives in exchange for passing them in the exam.

In the Physics section of NEET UG 2025, students needed to apply concepts across multiple chapters to arrive at correct answers, which increased the overall difficulty level.

Medical entrance exam NEET UG was held amid strict security in 27 places across Odisha, including Bhubaneswar. The examination commenced at 2 pm and concluded at 5 pm. CCTV cameras were installed in the examination centres, while senior police officers were in charge of the security, according to an official. As per news agency PTI, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack police commissioner S Dev Datta Singh and Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena visited some examination centres in the city to review the security arrangements.

Nabin Karki, National Academic Director (Medical) of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), assessed the Chemistry section of NEET UG 2025 to be of medium to difficult difficulty level with focus on Organic and Physical Chemistry, with the majority of questions being derived from the Class 12 syllabus.

A total of 18 examination centres were set up in the Gurugram where 6,672 candidates were scheduled to appear for NEET UG 2025.

Police personnel were deployed at all centres, and elaborate security arrangements were made by the administration to ensure a fair and cheating-free examination, District Nodal Officer and Additional Labour Commissioner (NCR) Kushal Kataria said.

According to an official, a total of 210 candidates remained absent in the exam.

Following a complaint from an exam coordinator, who noticed discrepancies on an admit card, the Kerala police on Sunday launched an investigation into an incident.

According to the police, the student currently in custody stated that he had downloaded and printed a fake admit card sent via WhatsApp by the operator of an Akshaya Centre in Thiruvananthapuram district.

Based on the candidate's statement, an FIR has been registered, and a detailed investigation is underway.

Many NEET UG 2025 candidates reported that time management became a hurdle due to the complex nature of the problems in the Physics section, especially in topics like Modern Physics, Electrodynamics, and Thermodynamics, said Nitin Vijay, CEO of Motion Education.

The Chemistry section in NEET UG 2005 featured a considerable number of statement-based and matrix-match questions, along with one assertion-reason-based question.

The Biology section of NEET 2025 displayed a clear preference for content from Class 12 over Class 11, and offered a well-balanced mix of factual, conceptual, and analytical questions.

Although Biology (Botany and Zoology) in NEET 2025 was not as conceptually difficult, the section was very lengthy. Questions were often detailed and required careful reading, which added pressure on time management, even for students well-versed in the subject.

Nitin Vijay, CEO of Motion Education, suggested that difficulty in NEET 2025 Physics section may impact overall cut-offs this year, especially for top government medical colleges.

Amid the CBI probe into last year’s NEET UG paper leak, the government has taken action against over 250 MBBS students and aspirants. National Medical Commission (NMC) has cancelled the admissions of at least 14 students who enrolled in the 2024-25 session. Candidature of another 215 students has been put on hold. Another 26 students already enrolled in MBBS courses have also been suspended. 42 candidates have been debarred from taking the NEET UG examination for three years.

Biology wasn’t the hardest, but the number of detailed questions made it difficult for students to manage their time effectively throughout the exam.

Though some theory-based questions were easier, Chemistry's tricky format and need for close attention made it a mentally exhausting section for many.

Experts noted that NEET Physics required multi-step solutions and strong cross-topic understanding, pushing students to their analytical limits.

Dr. Brajesh Maheshwari from Allen Career Institute believes that the high difficulty level may lead to a lower number of top scorers in NEET UG 2025.

The exam marked a return to pre-COVID patterns, with increased conceptual weightage and lengthy problem-solving in Physics and Chemistry sections.

Although not overly tough in terms of concepts, Biology’s long and detailed questions slowed students down. Many struggled to finish the paper in time.

For the first time in years, Chemistry included questions with multiple correct answers. This format confused many students and significantly increased time spent per question.

Held on May 4 for nearly 22.7 lakh aspirants, the NEET UG 2025 exam brought back the pre-COVID complexity, resulting in higher difficulty and slower solving speeds across sections.

Candidates reported that the Physics portion was the hardest in the NEET UG 2025 paper, requiring deep understanding, multi-step problem-solving, and application across topics.

This year’s NEET UG exam saw a sharp rise in difficulty, with both students and experts agreeing it was more time-intensive than recent years. Physics and Chemistry posed the biggest challenges.
